Understanding the Ludo Game Rules to Play Online
Ludo is a game you play with 2 to 4 people, and everyone starts with four little pieces. The aim is to get all your pieces from where you started to your home spot by rolling a die and moving the number of spaces it lands on. But the rules for Ludo can change depending on the game you’re playing online. For instance, some Ludo games let you roll again if you get a 6, but not all do.
Objective
The objective of Ludo is to move all your pieces from the starting point to the home column.
Set-Up:
Players: Ludo is typically played by 2-4 players
Pieces: Each player has four pieces of a specific colour
Board: The board consists of four starting areas, four home columns, and a central home area.
Rules:
1. Starting the game
Every player rolls the dice, and the highest roll goes first.
Players take turns clockwise.
2. Rolling A Six
A player must roll a six to start the game or to move a piece first.
Rolling another six gives the player another turn.
3. Movement
Pieces move clockwise around the board based on the number of the rolled dice.
If a piece lands on the square occupied by an opponent’s piece, it will be returned to its starting area.
4. Safe Squares
Some squares are marked safe and cannot be occupied by more than one piece
5. Home Column
Once a piece completes a full circle on the board, it enters the home column of its colour.
Pieces must be moved to the home area by an exact roll.
6. Winning the Game
The first player to move all the pieces to the home area will win.
